During the summer, students have the responsibility of reading a required book selected by their teacher. As the students read, they are required to complete a book summary sheet that will guide them through their oral presentation in front of their classmates. On the second day of school, students will present their books in their 7th hour clasroom during a class discussion.

The purpose of summer reading is to encourage reading and book discussion among students. The program consists of three elements: read, write, and discuss.

Summer reading gives students the oppurtunity to continue learning throughout the summer.
