Sean Gordon (12) is a soccer player at LHS, he is also the captain of the varsity team. Gordon speaks of the challenges of becoming team captain.

“I worked hard all four years and gained a lot respect for the game,  my coaches, and the team,” Gordon said.

Gordon has been playing soccer since he was two years old, when his parents originally exposed him to the sport.  He ended up enjoying  it and continued playing. At the moment his team has already lost the first two games but they just won one. They plan to continue improving their record in the upcoming weeks and throughout the season.

Gordon has some insight on how the team can succeed, “I think we can be a very good team this year, we can definitely be contenders, but we need to make sure that we have all of our stuff together and work as a unit,” Gordon said.

Although there has only been three games this year so far, the team has been committed to working hard and training all soccer season but also during the summer.

“We did a lot of workouts with the team, make sure we got our touchdown to get the feel of the game back again, and we ran a lot,” Gordon said.

With all of their hard work and dedication, we wish them luck and are hopeful this season will be a good one. The team’s next home game is Sept 8 at 6:00 against Mehlville. The varsity guys would love the support of the Lindbergh student body!
