The varsity boys are off to a steady start with a record of 3-3. Previously, the team has defeated Fox, Clayton, and more recently, St. Mary’s High School with a score of 4-1.

The team’s losses consists of CBC, and Webster. The latest game against Mehlville ended with a score of 1-2, resulting in a loss for the Flyers and a goal by Michael Spence (12). After the close loss to an old rival, the boys will be taking on Lafayette High School next Tuesday.

The team remains very close and still extremely hopeful for the rest of the season to continue. While some players are leading the team in goals, all members put forward their best effort in order to achieve a win.

“We are dangerous from many positions and do not just have one go-to guy for goal scoring,” Mark Giesing (Boys’ Varsity Soccer Coach) said.

Coach Giesing shares that he is looking forward to coaching a talented group of guys that will end the season with many successes.

“We have very solid team chemistry and we all have bought into the idea that we want to make a run at a state title,” Giesing said.

Although the boys took a devastating loss to Mehlville, the upcoming games next week will add a positive streak to their record. Following Lafayette on Tuesday is Pattonville on Wednesday at home.
