An in depth analysis of the skating flyers: striding for .500

As the skating flyers glide into the season, the young lineup struggles to hit smooth ice. With a 0-4-1 record framing the table, the flyers look to break an early trend.

The Flyers may be off to a slow start, though the team’s morale is in perfect stance to take a 180 degree turn. Senior captain, Hunter Heilmann (12), believes his crew is on the edge of a breakthrough.

“Our best moment so far this season was against Parkway South when we made a two goal comeback in the final minute of the game,” Heilmann said.

Sure, there are great comebacks every once in awhile, but there is something to be said about this one in particular. For a young team to display such determination and grit in the final moments of a contest that seems to be coming to a close says a lot about this club. Bringing only four seniors to this year’s squad, adversity will surely be sufficient throughout the season but winning close matches like these will only bring confidence and animation to the developing bunch.
