Logan Wells (12) played defensive end on the Varsity Flyers Football team this year. Wells  took his position on the team very seriously, and it paid off. Wells has had an astonishing season this year: he broke Lindbergh’s sack record with eighteen sacks and was named First Team All Metro and First Team All State.

Wells is an athlete that players want to play with and coaches want on their team. He is a team player and he plays the game well.

“Logan works hard. He definitely pays the price in the weight room, he pays attention to the detail of his job as a defensive end, and he has a passion for that position,” Tom Girard (PE Department) said.

The next step after high school for Wells is college, and when it came to the recruiting process, all eyes were on him. Wells had numerous offers from state schools like Missouri State, and Northwest Missouri State, to Ivy League Schools like Brown and Columbia. He also had an offer to The Air Force Academy. After weighing all his options, he decided that the Air Force Academy would be a good fit for him and committed there on January 4th, the same day they offered him.

“There was a lot that appealed to me from the Air Force Academy. First and foremost, the high quality education, but I also liked the culture. The type of person who makes it out of the Academy is a high quality person. Plus there was a $500,000 scholarship. I decided it was the brightest future possible for me,” Wells said.

The future certainly looks bright for Wells. From receiving a quality education, to playing Division I football, and at the end of it all, he will have a leadership role in the military. Best of luck!
