John Worthen (Art Department) from room 332 uses his artwork as his room decorations. He says they mean something to him, and that it’s a personal touch he adds to the room. He says some students get their work displayed and others bring in drawings and artwork from publications that interests him.

Worthen acknowledges he likes comic books so students have brought in superheroes, like cardboard cutouts of Marvel characters. Worthen mentioned looking at his own work and that from students which makes his room a friendly environment. He feels that it makes it easier to survive the day and with all of those personal things around him.

“I like decorations that influence and motivate students,” Worthen said.

David Early (Art Department) from room 330, hangs up classroom decorations to liven up the creative process.

“The artwork is used to inspire students for their projects, so even if they don’t like the drawing of the big bad wolf I have hanging up, they could look at the color scheme and get inspiration from the different colors on stuff I have displayed,” Early said.
